Elementary


Elementary School at Al Wahda Private School encompasses students aged 6 to 10 years. The program includes a combination of core subjects taught in homeroom along with classes taught by subject specialists; including:

  • Arabic language
  • Islamic Studies
  • Social Studies
  • Art
  • Physical Education
  • Library and Computer technology Skills are integrated into the classrooms to make them more interactive.

Elements of UAE heritage, history and Islamic culture are incorporated during teaching and learning activities in the classrooms.

Curriculum

The Elementary Section at Al Wahda school follows the California Common Core State Standards (CCSS) in English and Mathematics. We also follow the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) in teaching Science. Our program adopts resources that are aligned with the key standards to guarantee success and academic progress. Learning is differentiated through various resources ,  as technology has become a major factor in effectively catering to the educational needs of all students. Technology is incorporated via the following programs:

  • ClassDojo
  • Teams
  • Razkids
  • A Smart Board exists in each classroom to promote interactive learning.
  • Students use the school iPads in different classes to enhance their learning experiences and expand their educational gains.

All children in grades 1-4 follow the ‘McGraw-Hill’ program, along with additional reading and grammar activities that support individual progress. Children are assessed regularly and helped to become increasingly aware of what they need to do in order to progress to the next stage in their learning.
