At Al Wahda Private School, various systems are being implemented to make sure students receive nothing less than the best education. This is achieved by keeping students connected to the world of knowledge at all times.
Starting as early as primary school, all students will be given a laptop each. Any queries they may have related to any subject will always be just a click away.
What is E-learning and how does it work?
E-learning involves electronically supported learning and teaching. A communication network is set up in each classroom, connecting the teacher to the students. Whether a student is in the classroom or at home, they will be alble to log on to the lessons taught in class, and complete all tasks assigned to them.
In tne new academic year, I Campus from Interconnect will be used by the school management and staff. For managing the learning effort, Connected Learning Gateway, from ITWorx, will be implemented. The school will be working closely with Dell and Apple to provide computers for the teachers, students and management of the school.
E-mails will be set up for parents in order for them to communicate directly with the teacher about class work and daily activities. An attendance management system will automatically post online whether or not a student is in school on any given day. This also allows parents to monitor their wards’ attendance. Teachers can directly keep parents updated about their child's progress.
Benefits of E learning
- Students can go back to previous lessons for reference. Teachers’ lesson notes will always be accessible to students.
- Students can log on to a lesson any time, from anywhere with access to a computer and the internet. If a student is on leave for whatever reason, they can still attend the class by going online.
- Students can join a discussion on the bulletin board with their teachers or other classmates any time.
- New and more advanced learning methods will be addressed in order to give the students a complete learning experience.
- Students will have to take more responsibility and get more involved in their education.
